Signe Bamsey

Signe Bamsey is a multimedia artist, who is interested in the process of photography and in the structure of the photograph. Alternative processes and camera-less photography are techniques significant to their practice. Bamsey investigates each method when creating a body of work. Their photographs are defined by objects, whose meaning they transform. They were a studio assistant to fine art photographer JoAnn Verburg and completed a curatorial fellowship with the Kunsthalle Darmstadt. They received their BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2015. Bamsey lives in Des Moines, Iowa where they are currently a Commerce Lab Producer at Dotdash Meredith.
